Discover Pierogibites & More

Walking into Pierogibites & More feels like stepping into a neighborhood diner that actually listens to its customers. I stopped by on a busy Friday evening at 100 Bedford Ave, Bellmore, NY 11710, United States, and the place was humming without feeling chaotic. Families shared tables, regulars chatted with staff by name, and first-timers scanned the menu with that wide-eyed look that usually means good things are coming. From experience, that kind of atmosphere doesn’t happen by accident-it’s built through consistency and care.

The menu leans heavily into comfort food with a Polish-American soul, and that’s where the restaurant shines. Their pierogi are clearly the heart of the operation. I watched them being prepped behind the counter, and the process is refreshingly hands-on: dough rolled daily, fillings mixed in small batches, and everything cooked to order. I ordered the classic potato and cheese, along with a sampler that included mushroom and sauerkraut. The texture hit that perfect balance-soft on the outside, rich and savory inside. Food science studies from Cornell University have shown that fresh dough products retain better moisture and flavor than frozen alternatives, and you can taste that difference here.

Beyond pierogi, there’s plenty more to explore. The menu includes hearty sandwiches, kielbasa plates, soups, and rotating specials that keep regulars coming back. On one visit, a chalkboard special featured a seasonal beet soup inspired by Eastern European recipes. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, diners are increasingly drawn to menus that rotate seasonally, and this spot clearly understands that trend without making it feel forced or trendy.

What stands out just as much as the food is the service. I’ve worked in hospitality before, and you can tell when staff are trained to care rather than just follow a script. Orders were double-checked, substitutions handled without attitude, and recommendations offered honestly. When I asked which pierogi sold best, the server didn’t hesitate and added, bold comfort favorite, explaining it’s what locals order when they bring friends from out of town.

Reviews around town echo that same sentiment. Many mention consistency, which is one of the hardest things for any restaurant to maintain. A 2023 study by Toast POS noted that consistency is the top factor influencing repeat visits, even more than price. That explains why this diner stays busy without relying on gimmicks or flashy promotions.

The location itself is another advantage. Sitting right in Bellmore, it’s easy to reach whether you’re a local or just passing through Nassau County. Parking is manageable, and the diner-style setup makes it equally suitable for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. While it’s not a huge space, the layout works, and turnover is smooth without making guests feel rushed.

There are a few limitations worth noting for transparency. Seating can be tight during peak hours, and the menu, while focused and satisfying, may not cater as well to diners looking for lighter or plant-based meals beyond a couple of options. That said, the staff is upfront about ingredients and preparation, which builds trust.

Overall, the experience feels grounded and honest. From the way the pierogi are made to how the team interacts with customers, everything aligns with what people expect from a reliable neighborhood diner. When a place earns repeat visits from locals and steady praise in reviews, that’s usually the most reliable measure of quality.

  • Went there for our 2nd time. Got there for a late breakfast with a friend. First off the female server was so nice. Had her the first time, too. Friendly and knowledgeable about what to order. So we had pierogis with sweet cheese and raspberry topping. The raspberry topping was so fresh and home made and the pierogis were perfectly crisped up and delicious. We also had raspberry topping on a cheese blintz , fantastic, and again perfect fresh topping. Excellent breakfast dish, so satisfying. Also , had 2 cappuccinos( it was b4 Noon), and they were perfect All in all, a great place for something a bit different and authentic, quality, good, served in a warm environment.

  • Incredible food. Easy spot to miss or overlook, but the food was incredible. Service was great. The white borscht is to die for and don’t pass on dessert, the apple crumb cake and the blintzes were excellent.

  • Nice quiet place to have a good meal. My wife has been wanting to go here for some time now and I'm glad we did. The food is all freshly made and being served by a very nice young man who was helpful to explain the different dishes to us. So for lunch or dinner with the gang or family I think you’ll be happy you stopped in.

  • 5-star Polish food and 5-star service from our waiter Adrian at Pierogibites & More in Bellmore. Food was on point and was just as good as the Polish food we had in Warsaw and Krakow Poland this past March of 2025

  • This was an absolute find. The pierogis were amazing, so many different styles and the add-ons on the side are on par. If you love potatoes make the trip. Our server Adrian was incredible he knew how to pair the pierogis with the sides and is very knowledgeable of the all the dishes and beer. The dark beer with raspberry syrup was clutch. If you’re in the area and looking for good comfort food it’s a must try.

  • Really unique and nice neighborhood spot. Been there twice now when driving through, and both times we enjoyed ourselves. My wife grew up eating pierogies her Slovak grandmother would make. She says these bring her back to her childhood. We got our pierogies boiled, in an attempt to be somewhat healthy, and they are soft and melt in your mouth. But I’m sure you can’t go wrong with pan fried in butter, I mean how can you. I prefer the classic pierogi, potato and cheese filling, and the goat cheese and arugula one. The sauerkraut and mushroom one was really good as well. We opted for some kielbasa bites on the pierogi and they were sautéed up nicely, had good snap and nice flavor. We loved the beet and horseradish salad, although it was more like a spread, and Babcia’s cabbage. Service was great and friendly and made great recommendations as well. All in all gray homemade authentic food in a nice and cozy setting.
